Another day, another milestone for Milwaukee Bucks star Khris Middleton. On Monday night against the Detroit Pistons, Khris Middleton took another step toward establishing himself as one of the most adored legends in Bucks franchise history after claiming the No. 3 spot on the all-time scoring list.
Middleton scored his 12,012th career point for the Bucks on Monday night, thereby allowing him to surpass the great Glenn Robinson for the third spot in the franchise’s all-time scoring leaderboard.
Giannis Antetokounmpo Reacts to Khris Middleton’s Milwaukee Bucks Milestone
An emotional Giannis Antetokounmpo delivered a heartfelt message after Milwaukee’s 122-113 win over the Pistons as he shared his thoughts on Middleton’s latest milestone. Needless to say, Giannis is extremely proud of what his buddy achieved on Monday:
“I respect this guy,” Giannis said, via Jim Owczarski of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “If you’ve followed his journey closely, I’ve been with him 11 years. You’ve seen him, how hard he’s worked. Every year he comes back better. Has given everything for the game. He love the game, he’s committed to the game, and just being the third all-time leading scorer of the Bucks, it’s a compliment. It’s not easy to get there. I hope when it’s all said and done we both hold all the records.”
For what it’s worth, Middleton won’t be catching Giannis on the scoring list. Antetokounmpo owns the top spot after amassing 17,588 points to his name. That’s still well over 5,000 points above Middleton’s mark — and counting.
Khris, however, has a shot at taking the No. 2 spot. This currently belongs to Hall of Fame big man Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who scored 14,211 points as a Buck. You wouldn’t put it beyond Middleton for him to score 2,199 more points between now and by the time he hangs it up.
