Giannis Antetokounmpo looked like a madman on Wednesday night as he led the Milwaukee Bucks to their fifth straight victory. This came at the expense of the Washington Wizards, who simply had no answer to the former back-to-back MVP.
Thanks to Giannis’ heroics, the Bucks secured an important win against a struggling Washington side, 142-129.

As it turns out, however, there is a method to Giannis’ madness. The 28-year-old spoke out after the game to describe the mindset he took on against the Wizards. According to Giannis, he did all he could to confuse Washington’s defense:
“Just trying to play random basketball,” Antetokounmpo said, via Eric Nehm of The Athletic. “Tried to be in multiple positions. Left block. Right block. Transition. Rim run. Off the dribble. Nail. Roll. Pop. Just play random basketball. I think it’s harder to guard, harder for them to load up and build the wall.”
I see no lies here. The Wizards struggled mightily to hold Giannis down, and the fact that he dropped a game-high 42 points on 20-of-23 shooting (!) is a clear testament to this fact.
Antetokounmpo did concede, though, that this bold tactic does not always pay off. Being the jack of all trades, so to speak, does have its risks. It goes without saying, however, that everything worked out against the Wizards.
“There’s going to be some days that it’s going to work and somedays that it’s not gonna work,” he said. “Today was a day that I was able to get a few buckets, and hopefully there’s many more games like this one. But at the end of the day, I just got to keep on playing, keep on being aggressive, trying to make the right play with my teammates. Try to do whatever I can to help them win.”
