Even after losing four out of the Milwaukee Bucks’ last five games, Giannis Antetokounmpo still manages to impress on the court. This is exactly the case when his matchup against Kevin Durant yielded an insane stat that will make jaws drop.
In that particular game, the Suns came out on top of the Bucks with a score of 114-106. The All-Star trio of Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal combined for 85 points to help their team secure the win.
Meanwhile, the Greek Freak poured 34 points on 54 percent shooting from the field, 10 rebounds, and six assists to lead the Bucks. Malik Beasley also dropped 22 points as Damian Lillard sat out the game due to an ankle injury.
This loss marks the fifth since Rivers took over the team from Joe Prunty, and Adrian Griffin before him. It remains to be seen whether the recent addition of Patrick Beverly can help turn the tide around for the Bucks.
Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Insane Stat Against Kevin Durant In Milwaukee Bucks’ Loss to the Phoenix Suns
While the Bucks lost to Phoenix during their game, Antetokounmpo showed why he’s one of the best defensive players in the NBA. According to a tweet by Justin Wills on X:
“According to NBA matchup stats, Giannis defended Kevin Durant on 32 possessions last night. Durant’s stats when guarded by Giannis: 1 point 1 turnover 0-6 shooting,” Wills wrote.
Even though there was a lot of focus on Durant’s poster dunk on the Greek Freak, there’s no doubt that this is a great accomplishment, given that the Slim Reaper is one of the best shot creators in NBA history.
This season, Durant is averaging 28.3 points on 53 percent shooting from the field, 45 percent from deep, and 87 percent from the free throw line this season. There’s a good chance he’s going to make a shot if the ball is in his hands.
Unfortunately, Antetokounmpo is a great stopper, one that matches up nicely with Durant. If ever these two teams meet again, the latter will definitely have his work cut out for him.
