The Milwaukee Bucks scored a massive win on Monday night as they took down the defending champs Denver Nuggets in a blowout, 112-95. Giannis Antetokounmpo and Co. flexed their muscles over one of the heavy favorites to win the title this season, and there’s no denying that this was a marquee win for the Bucks.
Moreover, this was Milwaukee’s second straight win after their 120-84 victory over the Charlotte Hornets on Friday. Despite the mini-streak, however, Giannis isn’t getting carried away one bit.
Giannis Antetokounmpo Speaks Out on Milwaukee Bucks’ Second Straight Victory
After the game, Antetokounmpo was asked to share his thoughts on their statement against the mighty Nuggets. The former back-to-back MVP acknowledged that the victory was sweet but at the same time, he was quick to play down the streak:
“It feels good,” Giannis said of the victory, via Jim Owczarski of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “I’ve said this, me personally, I don’t care, I don’t mind if we stack two in a row, if we stack five in a row, if we stack 10 in a row, like, it’s nothing to me. I just love when the team is headed towards the right direction and I feel as a team we’re doing that.”
Don’t get him wrong; Giannis loves winning. However, the eight-time All-Star has a very high regard for the big picture. In this case, what’s more important for Antetokounmpo is that the Bucks are now trending in the right direction.
It’s been a rough start for the Doc Rivers regime in Milwaukee, but the way they’ve won their last two contests goes to show that if things click, the sky is truly the limit for the Bucks.
