Giannis Antetokounmpo had it going in the first half against the Denver Nuggets. There’s probably no such thing as a perfect half of basketball, but the Milwaukee Bucks superstar came close to achieving the same against Nikola Jokic and Co. on Monday night.

Unsurprisingly, Giannis’ majestic performance in the opening half has Twitter buzzing hard.

Antetokounmpo finished the first 24 minutes of action with 26 points on 10-of-12 shooting to go along with nine rebounds and two steals. Talk about making a statement against the defending champs, right?

The mean streets of Twitter loved what they saw from the former back-to-back MVP:

Needless to say, more than a few basketball fans were left in awe by Giannis’ heroics against Jokic and Co.

More importantly, Giannis led the Bucks to a 16-point cushion over the Nuggets at the break. We still have a full half to play, but if Antetokounmpo is able to keep his foot on the gas, Milwaukee should emerge victorious in this one and tie their season series against the defending champs, 1-1.

It goes without saying, however, that this is going to be anything but a walk in the park against the mighty Nuggets.
