Giannis Antetokounmpo decided to take matters into his own hands on Monday night for the Milwaukee Bucks in a 112-95 win over the Denver Nuggets. Antetokounmpo dominated the game from start to finish with 36 points, 18 rebounds, five assists, two blocks, and three steals.
With the way he played, the Bucks can be tough to beat when they want to play that way. With the win over the Nuggets, the Bucks improved to 35-19 on the season and they are just a game back of the Cleveland Cavaliers for the second seed in the Eastern Conference.
As for the Denver Nuggets, they dropped to 36-18 on the season and they are currently the fourth seed in the Western Conference, but they are not far behind the Minnesota Timberwolves for the number one seed in the Western Conference.
Giannis Antetokounmpo told Sports Illustrated’s Matthew Dugandzic after the game by saying:
“It feels good. I’ve said this, I don’t, me personally, I don’t care, I don’t mind if we struck two in a row, if we struck five in a row, if we struck 10 in a row. That means nothing to me. I just love when the team is heading towards the right direction.”
It has been an interesting first couple of weeks with Doc Rivers as the head coach but they have now won two consecutive games. Milwaukee will be fine moving forward as long as Antetokounmpo is playing at a high-level night in and night out. The defense seems to be much improved.
Giannis Antetokounmpo Has Help From Damian Lillard In Win For Milwaukee Bucks Over Denver Nuggets
The duo of Antetokounmpo and Lillard has been very good this season for the Bucks. Damian Lillard on Monday night against the Denver Nuggets scored 18 points, grabbed three rebounds, and recorded five assists. Lillard was the second-leading scorer for Milwaukee in this basketball game.
They have been a great duo from the first game of the NBA regular season until now and it will continue to be that way. They will play again on Tuesday night against the Miami Heat and will see what they do for an encore of a performance.
