As of the moment, the Milwaukee Bucks are in possession of two picks entering the 2024 NBA Draft. They own the rights to the No. 23 and the No. 33 picks as they look to add some fresh talent to their aging roster.
According to recent draft predictions, the Bucks could land Illinois Fighting Illini guard Terrence Shannon Jr. using their second-round pick. The young man, however, is already embroiled in a nasty controversy even before stepping into the NBA, which could deter any interest from Milwaukee — or any other team in the league, for that matter.
Milwaukee Bucks News: Draft Prospect Terrence Shannon Jr. Speaks Out on Sexual Assault Case

Shannon is currently facing sexual assault charges, which have now escalated to a potential court trial. The decorated Illinois senior broke his silence on the potentially career-altering case during the NBA Draft Combine:
“Obviously, it’s a real serious accusation, and I’m aware of that,” Shannon Jr. said, via Michael Scotto of HoopsHype. “I can’t go into too much detail about it, but I’m just focused on what I can control. That’s basketball and supporting my family.”

At this point, the 6-foot-6 guard is doing everything he can to keep his head in the game, so to speak, and to not let this issue distract him from achieving his NBA dream:
“Everybody faces adversity in their life, but it’s all about how you respond to it,” he said. “It’s all about how you respond. You can’t sit and pout. You have to face it head-on.”
No Days Off

When asked to describe what he feels he will be able to bring to the table should he get drafted, Shannon had this to say:
“I bring intensity to my game and my character,” he said. “I compete at the highest level. I’m never going to take days off. I work hard and go all out for any team. Whatever they need me to do, I’m going to do it.”
This is exactly the type of mentality the Bucks want from their young players. It remains to be seen, however, if this is enough for the team to overlook the young man’s off-the-court troubles.
