The Milwaukee Bucks will open the 2024-2025 season on the road on Wednesday night against the Philadelphia 76ers. The tipoff for that game will be at 6:30 p.m. CT.
On Tuesday, ESPN’s Shams Charania announced that Joel Embiid will be out for the opener against Milwaukee. He will not be playing at all in NBA action this week for the 76ers.
Fans Explode About Joel Embiid Not Playing For the Philadelphia 76ers On Wednesday Night Against the Milwaukee Bucks
Embiid has had a history of injuries in the past in his NBA career. When healthy, he is one of the most dominant centers in the NBA. Here is what fans had to say about him missing the opener against the Milwaukee Bucks:

With Embiid being out the first game of the season against the Bucks, this is not what they had in mind. Philadelphia and Milwaukee are two teams in the Eastern Conference that will be under the microscope a lot this season.
Paul George Also Out
Paul Georgia will also be out for the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night against the Milwaukee Bucks with an injury suffered in the preseason. He will be re-evaluated later this week. If George and Embiid are out for a lengthy time for Philadelphia, it will not be good for them.
The Milwaukee Bucks will not have Khris Middleton on Wednesday night either due to injury. As for the 76ers, they are going to rely a lot on Tyrese Maxey early in the season with Joel Embiid and Paul George out.
