The Wisconsin football staff has secured plenty of notable visitors for the upcoming game against the Penn State Nittany Lions.
A certain duo of twins is scheduled to visit the Wisconsin versus Penn State game all the way from Hialeah, Florida. Quarterback Kingston Rust and wide receiver Christian Rust are scheduled to visit the Wisconsin football game this weekend. Wisconsin is also scheduled to have big commitments such as Mason Posa in Madison for the game.
Both of the Rust twins are accomplished football players in the 2027 recruiting class and have been players coaches are keeping an eye on. Currently, both brothers hold scholarship offers from FAU and also both have heavy interest from the Wisconsin football team. The Badgers staff is working to land the duo before other schools begin to watch film from Barbara Goleman High School.
The Wisconsin football staff believes the duo is still largely unknown, and wants to make sure they can at the minimum have a solid relationship with the recruits before other schools are involved.
Kingston is currently considered to be one of the top quarterbacks in the 2027 recruiting class. Christian is considered a top wide receiver, and has received invitations to camps for potential five-star recruits. Christian is also an accomplished defensive back, with a rare chance to play either position at the collegiate level.
Wisconsin Football Staff Aiming to Impress Rust Brothers During Pivotal Game
For the Wisconsin football staff, beating Penn State would be both a massive boost on and off the field for the team.
Wisconsin is currently on the cusp of being ranked, receiving three votes this past week to enter the Top 25 schools in the country. With a win over #3 Penn State, Wisconsin would surely sneak into the rankings with a 6-2 record and a climb in the Big Ten Conference rankings. The Badgers to take down the Nittany Lions in order to leapfrog the team into ranking contention.
Off the field, however, the Wisconsin football staff is hoping to win or provide a competitive performance in order to impress the present recruits. For the Rust brothers, the game sort of acts as a dual visit, with Penn State being a program with interesting ties to the brothers. Four-star freshman Cam Rust, a standout for the Penn state women’s basketball team, is the sister of the twin brothers.
While it is unclear of whether or not the Penn State football staff has been involved with either brother, a future offer from the team could go a long way. With the brothers receiving a seat to watch the Nittany Lions, the importance of Wisconsin playing well is massive.
Often, schools only have one real chance to showcase to the recruits what the environment of the stadium is like. The Wisconsin recruiting staff will have to make sure the stadium is packed and the recruits receive the full Madison experience during the upcoming game.
