The arrival of Doc Rivers means that there’s going to be some tweaks in the roster. A big trade might be on the horizon but at the same time, there’s also going to be some internal changes within the current squad.
The team’s most recent move has come in the form of rookie Chris Livingston being sent down to the NBA G League as the 20-year-old continues to struggle to find playing time in his debut season.
Milwaukee Bucks Send Chris Livingston to Wisconsin Herd
Eric Nehm of The Athletic reported on Monday that the Bucks have decided to send Livingston down to the NBA G League for an undisclosed period:
“Per the team, the Bucks have assigned Chris Livingston to the Wisconsin Herd. The Herd next plays the Long Island Nets on Wednesday in New York,” Nehm reported.
This could be a temporary move for the 6-foot-6 small forward as the Bucks look to give the promising rookie some much-needed game time with the Herd.
Livingston has struggled to find consistent minutes this season, and the arrival of Doc Rivers hasn’t changed his situation much. The former Kentucky standout, however, logged 35 seconds on Sunday in their disappointing loss to the Utah Jazz, marking Livingston’s first appearance under the Rivers regime.
Bucks Youngsters Looking to Prove Worth to Doc Rivers
Livingston’s situation under the new coaching regime isn’t unique. To a certain extent, Milwaukee’s other youngsters have also struggled to find a consistent role in Rivers’ rotation.
Andre Jackson Jr. had established a relatively significant role in the rotation with Griffin involved, but he also hasn’t played under Rivers’ watch, save for his 37-second cameo against Utah on Sunday.
Second-year wingman MarJon Beauchamp also made his debut under Rivers on Sunday, but he too had less than a minute of action.
Rivers has indicated that he’s trying to see if he can find respective roles for the team’s young studs but at this point, they’re still on the outside looking in.
