Damian Lillard went just 3-of-10 from the field for 14 points in his preseason debut for the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday. The seven-time All-Star also logged two rebounds, three points, four steals, and two triples as he helped Milwaukee take down the Los Angeles Lakers at the Crypto.com Arena.
Dame played his second game for the Bucks on Tuesday against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Unfortunately, everyone who was expecting a better outing from the 33-year-old was left bitterly disappointed.
Milwaukee Bucks Star Damian Lillard Unable to Shake Off Rust Vs. Thunder
Lillard had another forgettable outing on Tuesday, scoring just five points on 2-of-11 from the field. It’s not as if Dame had fewer chances in this one either, with the former Portland Trail Blazers star logging 25 minutes against OKC.
For what it’s worth, Giannis played in this one as well, and the Bucks talisman fared much better than his new superstar teammate. Antetokounmpo finished with 18 points on 8-of-12 shooting, 10 rebounds, and four steals in 25 minutes.
The Thunder scored a big win, 124-101.
Most folks will argue that we shouldn’t read too much into this preseason game, which is absolutely right. Nevertheless, the fact of the matter is that Lillard is now 5-of-21 (23.8%) in his first two outings for his new team.

Unsurprisingly, the fans on Twitter did not hold back in criticizing Lillard for another lackluster performance. So much is expected from the seven-time All-NBA guard now that he’s teamed up with Giannis in Milwaukee, so it only follows that every misstep is going to be accentuated.
