Darvin Ham knows the Milwaukee Bucks well. After all, he served as an assistant under former head coach Mike Budenholzer for several years. In case you forgot, Ham was actually an integral part of the Bucks’ championship run in 2021 before the Los Angeles Lakers hired him as their new head coach.
Ahead of Sunday’s preseason matchup between the Bucks and the Lakers, Ham shared his brutally honest view on his former team’s new-look lineup heading into the new season.
Darvin Ham Speaks Out on Milwaukee Bucks’ New Tandem
Ham and the Lakers get the privilege of going up against the newly former Giannis Antetokounmpo-Damian Lillard superstar duo. Giannis and Dame sat out Milwaukee’s first two preseason matchups before being given the green light to make their highly-anticipated debut against LA on Sunday.
For his part, Ham isn’t shying away from the fact that the NBA has a very big problem on its hands right now:
“Best of luck to everyone else, the other 28 teams besides from ourselves that have to figure out how to stop that. I’m just happy we only have to see them twice in the regular season,” he said, via NBA insider Mark Medina.
Ham is pretty much vocalizing what the rest of the league is thinking at the moment in terms of the Giannis-Lillard partnership in Milwaukee. While some sides might choose to deny it, the truth of the matter is that it’s hard not to worry about having to battle two of the top superstars in the NBA today on the same team. Surely, this will give opposing coaches one or two sleepless nights throughout this season.
