Sacramento Kings shot-caller Mike Brown deserves a lot of credit for coaching a near-perfect game against the Milwaukee Bucks. After all, they did blow out Giannis Antetokounmpo and Co. by 35 points in a totally dominant display on Tuesday night.
Despite his team’s commanding victory, however, Brown could not help but criticize the referees over their calls on Bucks superstar Damian Lillard.
Kings Coach Reacts to Fouls on Milwaukee Bucks Star Damian Lillard
Speaking after his team’s 129-94 victory, Brown still had to point out that his team was put at a significant disadvantage by the referees. According to the 54-year-old coach, the refs have been overly sensitive when it comes to contact on Lillard:
“What makes it extra hard – we got called for three of these I think up in Milwaukee – is you know, if you touch Dame at all, if you blow on him, it’s gonna be a foul,” he said chuckling after he blew into the microphone to accentuate his point, via Jim Owczarski of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “So, like I said, we got hit with three of ‘em. I think I know two, I’m pretty sure two for sure in Milwaukee.”
That’s a nicely veiled shot by Brown so he shouldn’t find himself in any trouble with the league here. Nevertheless, he was still able to get his point across about the game officials supposedly being overprotective of the Bucks superstar point guard.
Whatever the case might be, it’s the Kings who have come out on top here. The season series between these two teams ends at 1-1, but after that shocking blowout on Tuesday night, you have to say that the advantage goes to Sacramento.
