Milwaukee Bucks star Damian Lillard entered Sunday’s contest against the Utah Jazz nursing a left ankle sprain. This was the first we heard of the injury because Dame looked fine on Saturday in a huge win against the Dallas Mavericks.
Despite the questionable tag heading into the Jazz game, however, Lillard ended up playing through the injury. It now appears that he may have aggravated the same in the third quarter of Sunday’s contest.
Milwaukee Bucks Star Throws One Down Over Walker Kessler
The incident went down late in the third quarter as Lillard exploded to the rim to finish with a thunderous slam. He got matched up against Jazz big man Walker Kessler after a screen, and Dame knew he had to take it strong to the rack against one of the best rim-protectors in the NBA today.
The eight-time All-Star did just that:

Unfortunately, Lillard landed awkwardly after the massive slam. It looked like he was in some pain right after the play as he limped toward the opposite side of the floor.
It did seem like Dame was favoring that same left ankle that had him questionable to play tonight.
The good news here is that Lillard was able to play on in the fourth quarter. He finished the game with 12 points on 5-of-18 shooting, to go along with six assists, a steal, and two blocks in 38 minutes of play.
The bad news is the Bucks lost, 123-108.
Milwaukee returns to action on Tuesday against the Phoenix Suns and Lillard’s injury status for that game will be worth monitoring.
