For the longest time, Damian Lillard stuck with the Portland Trail Blazers and did his best to deliver a championship to the franchise. The landscape has changed for the seven-time All-Star now that he’s part of a contender with the Milwaukee Bucks.
In the 11 seasons Lillard spent playing for the Trail Blazers, the All-Star point guard posted averages of 25.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 6.7 assists. He was also named to seven All-Star Games, seven All-NBA teams, and won Rookie of the Year in 2013.

During his current stint in Milwaukee, Lillard has mostly played with similar stats. In those 45 games this season, the point guard has averaged 25.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 6.8 assists per contest.
The biggest difference this time is Lillard is now playing with Giannis Antetokounmpo, an elite player in his own right. Surrounded by experienced teammates and a coach in Doc Rivers, this is truly the first time in his career that a championship is really possible.
Damian Lillard Shares His Thoughts About Being Part of a Championship Contender With the Milwaukee Bucks

Before the Bucks’ game against the Portland Trail Blazers, Lillard shares his thoughts about what it feels like to be a part of a championship contender.
In a tweet by Danny Marang on X:
“It’s not refreshing, it’s more encouraging that these guys want what I want. They got one and they want one more… I’ve always enjoyed pouring into younger players so it’s not really refreshing it’s more encouraging,” Lillard said.
That kind of mindset is exactly what the All-Star point guard needs at this stage of his career. Although he has done a lot for Portland in the past decade, a championship will only be possible for Dame if he sticks with the Bucks and gives it his all.
At this point in time, the Bucks are currently on a two-game losing streak under Doc Rivers as the head coach. Hopefully, Lillard and his teammates can turn it around to make their dream of winning a ring this season a reality.
