The Milwaukee Bucks’ Patrick Beverley era has officially begun. The 35-year-old made his debut for his new team on Friday in Milwaukee’s 120-84 blowout win against the Charlotte Hornets.
As expected, Pat Bev wasted no time making his presence felt with his new squad.
Damian Lillard Reacts to Patrick Beverley’s Milwaukee Bucks Debut
Beverley spent just 12 minutes on the court in his Bucks debut. He finished with six points on 2-of-5 shooting (both makes were from beyond the arc), to go along with one rebound and four assists.
After the game, Milwaukee superstar Damian Lillard heaped praise on his new teammate as Dame lauded what Beverley is able to bring to the table for the Bucks:
“I thought he brought what he brings to the game,” said Lillard, via Jim Owczarski of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “He brought energy. He brought edge. And just experience.”
Doc Rivers Echoes Dame’s Thoughts on Beverley
Beverley hasn’t even had a week to spend with his new teammates, but he’s already been able to introduce himself to them in more ways than one.
“He’s just positive energy,” Coach Doc Rivers said. “Holds his teammates and himself accountable. Really just wants to win. And I think our guys see that. I think they’ve learned a little bit about him already. It’s not just BS talk, he’s trying to get everybody to buy in and win.”
Beverley is no superstar but it does seem like he’s going to be an integral part of what the Bucks are trying to do this season.
