The Milwaukee Bucks are now 5-0 since returning from the All-Star break. They will be looking to make it six straight wins when they host the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday night.
At this point, it would be safe to say that the Bucks are rolling of late. They’re one of the hottest teams in the NBA right now as they’ve finally seemed to have gotten their chemistry right. According to Milwaukee big man Brook Lopez, this growth can be attributed to one key factor.
Brook Lopez Vocal on Milwaukee Bucks’ Growth
Speaking to the media ahead of Monday’s clash against the Clippers, Lopez sounded off on his team’s improvements on the defensive end. According to the former All-Star, the fact that the Bucks have been able to find themselves on the same page defensively has worked wonders in terms of developing the bonds between the members of the squad:
“At the defensive end, that’s somewhere where you can really build relationships easily if you have that right mindset and right intention, and we have those guys,” Lopez said. “… We all know we have each others’ back. It’s helped create bonds. We all need to be on a string, be together, we’re out there talking to each other, everyone’s moving, and stuff like that. I think those bonds and those intangibles we’ve done creating defensively have absolutely helped us grow as a team on offense.”

As Lopez said, it’s not just all about defense. Their significant improvements on that side of the ball have also led to the team’s growth on the offensive end. Milwaukee’s play on the offensive end hasn’t really been an issue for them all season long, but the fact that they’ve improved considerably on the opposite end has allowed them to further enhance what is already one of the most potent offenses in the NBA today.
The sky’s the limit for this squad.
