Right before Doc Rivers assumes the head coaching gig, the Milwaukee Bucks took care of business against the New Orleans Pelicans in a 141-117 victory. This leads Bobby Portis to share how important this big win was before embarking on their road trip out west.
In that particular contest, the duo of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard led the way for Milwaukee as the two All-Stars combined for 56 points. Brook Lopez was also in the zone when he posted 24 points and three rebounds.
Surprisingly, Bobby Portis also joined in on the fun by notching 20 points, seven rebounds, and two assists in 22 minutes off the bench. This makes him the leading contributor from the Bucks’ bench in their dominant win against the New Orleans Pelicans.
On the other side of the coin, the Pels were led by Brandon Ingram’s 26 points. Meanwhile, Zion Williamson added 23 points, making the two players from New Orleans to score 20 or more points in that contest.
Bobby Portis Shares Thoughts on How Important the Milwaukee Bucks’ Big Win Against the New Orleans Pelicans
In a postgame interview with Melanie Ricks, Bobby Portis shares that after their recent loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers at home, they wanted to get a win before heading out on their trip out west.

Portis added that their win against the Pelicans is always good since it’s the last home game before a long road trip. The Bucks’ big man also said that they’ll be ready for the upcoming 11 days and come together on the road as a team.
The Bucks will soon face the Denver Nuggets. This game also marks the first game Doc Rivers will coach the team after Adrian Griffin was fired last week. In any case, this will be an interesting period for both the team and their new head coach.
