Shortstop Willy Adames of the Milwaukee Brewers was placed on the seven day concussion IL on May 26 after a scary incident when a foul ball struck him in the face. He did not travel with the team on their road trip and manager Craig Counsell described his appearance a few days afterwards as, “He looks like he’s been in a fight with a big black eye.”
Thankfully at this time Willy Adames is feeling better and has resumed baseball activities. Additionally the Brewers have announced that he will play in a rehab game with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers on Sunday June 4.

During Sundays game Willy Adames will serve as the designated hitter. It’s unclear how many at-bats he will receive or if he will appear in multiple rehab games. If more rehab games are needed Mondays are off days in the minor leagues, so his next opportunity to play would be Tuesday.
The Brewers will also be returning to Milwaukee on Tuesday to start a six game home stand, so it’s possible that he rejoins the big league team then. Regardless it’s good to see Willy Adames bouncing back quickly after a scary injury. Hopefully his rehab game goes well and he can return to the Brewers soon.
