The Milwaukee Brewers reportedly are willing to trade virtually anyone. This rumor originated during GM Meetings and has spiraled since. One player, who was a trade candidate before GM Meetings, was starting pitcher Corbin Burnes. Recently rumors surrounding a potential deal for him have started gaining steam again.
A recent report from Jim Bowden of The Athletic indicated that Milwaukee is seeking a package of quality pitching prospects in return for Corbin Burnes. He also linked three big market teams as potential trade partners.
The Philadelphia Phillies, Los Angeles Dodgers, and New York Yankees have been linked as trade partners for Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Corbin Burnes.
“Corbin Burnes is also a free agent after next season, and the Brewers do not seem to have an appetite for extending him with a contract north of $100 million, so there’s a strong possibility they will trade him this winter if they can get an enticing package of pitching prospects in return.”
“Several big-market teams, including the (Los Angeles Dodgers), Yankees, and (Philadelphia Phillies), would love to land Burnes even though they’d control him for only one year.”

All of the teams mentioned as landing spots for Corbin Burnes figure to be in play for starting pitchers this off-season. The Los Angeles Dodgers recently lost Clayton Kershaw to shoulder surgery, Philadelphia Phillies star Aaron Nola is a free agent, and the New York Yankees are looking to build a staff around Gerritt Cole.
As mentioned the cost to acquire Burnes supposedly is an enticing package of pitching prospects. Milwaukee reportedly is more motivated to make trades than ever, so it will be interesting to see if a trade comes to fruition or not.
