The Milwaukee Brewers have a few very talented pitching prospects that could make their MLB debuts in 2024.  Jacob Misiorowski headlines this group but Robert Gasser and Carlos F. Rodriguez are not too far behind.  Recently manager Pat Murphy provided some insight as to when one of them might make their big league debut.

Milwaukee Brewers southpaw Robert Gasser is expected to make his MLB debut “fairly early” during the 2024 season.

Robert Gasser, the prized prospect that the Brewers received in the Josh Hader trade package in 2022, is expected to make his MLB debut early on during the 2024 season.  Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel provided this insight after a spring training post game interview.  On this particular day Gasser threw four innings, allowed three hits, one earned run, and struck out five batters.

“If he doesn’t make the opening day roster, I think you’ll see him fairly soon.”

-Pat Murphy regarding the MLB debut of Robert Gasser

Pat Murphy mentioned a specific stretch of games in April where Robert Gasser could debut.

Also mentioned by Pat Murphy was the teams pair of stretches in April where they play 13 games in as many days.  Their first stretch is from April 5-17 in which they play the Seattle Mariners, Cincinnati Reds, Baltimore Orioles, and San Diego Padres.  They get an off day April 18 before the second stretch of 13 consecutive games from April 19-May 1 when they play the St. Louis Cardinals, Pittsburgh Pirates, New York Yankees, and Tampa Bay Rays.

It will be interesting to see if Robert Gasser makes the Brewers opening day roster or not.  So far this spring the 24 year old has has thrown 10 innings, struck out 11, and has a 2.70 ERA.
