The Milwaukee Brewers have seemingly been switching pitchers out by the day on their big league roster as they approach the All-Star break. Playing 17 games in as many days will force a lot of clubs to do that, but so far the Crew has handled it well. According to a report from Hector Gomez the latest pitcher to receive a big league call up is flame thrower Abner Uribe.
Abner Uribe is a 23 year old who the Brewers signed out of the Dominican Republic. Injuries, mainly to his knees, have slowed his progression through the minor leagues, but over the last year he has started to put it all together. Solid showings in the Arizona Fall League, Spring Training, and with both the Biloxi Shuckers and Nashville Sounds this year has reportedly led to him finally receiving the call of a lifetime.
Abner Uribe was very emotional when telling his parents that he had been promoted by the Milwaukee Brewers to the big leagues.

The Brewers have not officially announced this transaction, but this report and video from Hector Gomez is pretty confirmatory that he will be coming to Milwaukee. It’s unclear where he will fit in the bullpen. He had been operating as the closer with the Biloxi Shuckers and in late innings for the Nashville Sounds.
On the mound Abner Uribe has incredible ‘stuff’ that should play at the Major League level. His fastball more often than not hits triple digits and his slider sits in the low 90s. Swing and miss is a big part of his game and he wears his emotions on his sleeve. For multiple reasons he should be an electric pitcher to watch on the mound.
