The Milwaukee Brewers could be losing Willy Adames in free agency this offseason and other players. Milwaukee will need to either make some trades or find some free agents to fill his void. The Brewers are looking to get to another level after winning the National League Central the last two seasons, but they failed to reach the NLDS.
One player who could potentially be on the trade market this offseason is Colorado Rockies third baseman Ryan McMahon. He is 29 years old and could be the Rockies’ best trade chip this offseason.
Colorado Rockies Will Shred Salary This Offseason And Ryan McMahon Could Be In Play For the Milwaukee Brewers
According to Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post, the Colorado Rockies will be looking to shred more salary this offseason. They cut some salary last offseason. A player to potentially watch for to be traded this offseason is Rockies’ third baseman Ryan McMahon.
McMahon is 29 years old. Last season with the Rockies, he had a .242 batting average with 20 home runs and 65 RBIs, along with four stolen bases. His on-base percentage was .325 this past season.
The Milwaukee Brewers no question should be all-in on Ryan McMahon this offseason. Milwaukee will need to find a Willy Adames replacement in the lineup and McMahon would be a perfect fit in the Brewers lineup. He will be under contract for the next three seasons. The Colorado Rockies lost over 100 games this season and will need to start all over.
Joey Ortiz Possibly Moves To Shortstop
Assuming Willy Adames doesn’t re-sign with the Milwaukee Brewers, Joey Ortiz is most likely going to move from third base to shortstop. Because of that, it would mean that Milwaukee would need to find a starting third baseman for the 2025 season. This is where Colorado Rockies Ryan McMahon comes into play here.
He would be a perfect fit in the Brewers lineup. McMahon would also be on a much better team with the Brewers compared to the Rockies. Matt Arnold should do whatever it takes to land the Rockies third baseman this offseason if they were to lose Adames this offseason.
