The Milwaukee Brewers pitching staff is on a roll. Over the past three games they have shut down the Cincinnati Reds offense by tossing shutouts in each game, striking out 44 batters, and allowing just seven hits. During their most recent 3-0 victory, in which a broken bat infield single was the Reds only hit of the night, they made some MLB history.

Milwaukee Brewers pitching staff is the first to ever record three straight shutouts with at least a dozen strikeouts in each game.
This streak of three straight shutouts started on the last day prior to the All-Star break. In that game the Brewers struck out 14 Reds batters with eight of them coming from Wade Miley and then two a piece from Elvis Peguero, Joel Payamps, and Devin Williams.
During the first game back post All-Star break Corbin Burnes put on a masterful 13 strikeout performance over six innings. Those three same relievers then all worked scoreless innings and the Reds ended up being fanned 18 total times in that game.
Finally on Saturday, July 15 Milwaukee’s pitching staff got a dozen strikeouts with six of them coming from Freddy Peralta and for a third consecutive game that same trio worked in relief. Similarly Elvis Peguero, Joel Payamps, and Devin Williams all recorded two strikeouts a piece.
This is just the third time in Brewers franchise history that they have tossed three consecutive shutouts. They last did this in 2013 against the Miami Marlins. Following that the Marlins were forced to call up top prospect Christian Yelich, who is now a star on the Milwaukee Brewers.
