The Milwaukee Brewers have been quite active over the last week. Their transaction spree started by parting ways with Corbin Burnes. They then reinvested Burnes’ $15 milllion salary into this years team by signing Jakob Junis and Gary Sanchez to $7 million contracts. Additionally big leaguers DL Hall and Joey Ortiz came over from the Baltimore Orioles in the Burnes trade package.

- Shortstop – Willy Adames

New additions from a season ago include power hitters Gary Sanchez, Rhys Hoskins, and Jake Bauers. Additional newcomers are Oliver Dunn, Vinny Capra, top prospect Jackson Chourio, and presumably Tyler Black at some point.
Is the Brewers current lineup entering 2024 better than their best 2023 lineup?
According to MLB Analyst Dan O’Dowd Milwaukee’s current lineup is arguably better right now than at any time last year. On MLB Network he specifically mentioned how Rhys Hoskins and Gary Sanchez help improve this offense.
“Now you have [Gary Sánchez] and Hoskins in that lineup… I could argue they have a much better lineup right now than they did any time last year.”

What was the best 2023 Milwaukee Brewers lineup?
The best Brewers lineup in 2023 would have been constructed at some point post trade deadline. Last year Carlos Santana and Mark Canha joined the team and were huge down the stretch for Milwaukee. In no particular order a lineup consisting of William Contreras, Carlos Santana, Andruw Monasterio, Willy Adames, Josh Donaldson, Christian Yelich, Sal Frelick, Mark Canha, and Garrett Mitchell would have been their best.
