Caleb Boushley making Milwaukee Brewers debut
Neenah, WI native Caleb Boushley will be making his major league debut with the Brewers this weekend. Boushley was drafted by the San Diego Padres back in 2017, but two years ago was brought back home to Wisconsin when he was selected in the Rule 5 draft.
In 29 games with the Nashville Sounds this year, Boushley held a 9-8 record, posted an ERA of 5.11 with 110 strikeouts in 135.2 innings pitched. The right-hander has excelled at the Triple-A level and it was only time before he would make his way up to the big leagues. Brewers fans can probably expect to see Boushley in a relief appearance at some point this weekend against the Cubs.
Other Roster Moves
LHP Clayton Andrews was recalled from Triple-A Nashville. Andrews last appeared with the Brewers three weeks ago before being optioned back down to Nashville. In his three appearances with the crew, he allowed eight runs in just 1 2/3 innings of work, totaling his ERA to 43.20. Additionally, Andrews appeared in 42 games with the Sounds this year, allowing 14 earned runs and 64 strikeouts across 49 innings of work.

After receiving his first MLB save of his career, Ethan Small has been optioned back to Nashville. Small was recalled just two days ago when the Brewers placed J.B. Bukauskas on the injured list. Small gave up two walks and no hits in his scoreless appearance in Thursday’s 3-0 win over the St. Louis Cardinals. During his time with the Nashville Sounds this season, he appeared in 38 games where he held a 2-4 record, ERA of 3.18, and recorded 61 strikeouts.
RHP Julio Teheran has been designated for assignment after pitching four scoreless innings against the Cardinals on Thursday. Teheran appeared in 14 games with the crew with 11 starts,
The Brewers will start a three-game series with the Chicago Cubs starting on Friday night. Colin Rea is expected to be the starting pitcher for Milwaukee. The game starts at 7:10PM CST at American Family Field.
