The Milwaukee Brewers brought in Brian Anderson during the off-season to play third base as well as right field. He initially got off to a great start and collected 20 RBI during the first month of the season. Since then he has fell on hard times, has spent some time on the injured list, and now his last game played for the Brew Crew was over two weeks ago on August 22.
Recently Brian Anderson was asked about his reduction in playing time and overall he is trying to remain positive. Manager Craig Counsell has had discussions with him as well.
Milwaukee Brewers News: Brian Anderson remaining positive despite a reduction in playing time.

When asked about not getting playing time here is what Brian Anderson had to say.
“I don’t want to be somebody that’s here and is going to be negative and complaining or anything like that. The only thing I can do is keep working, try to get that opportunity, try to have fun with it and enjoy it.”
“I think I’m taking that how anybody else would. It’s obviously tough as a competitor. I want to be out there. But at the same point, a lot of things I can’t control. I’m here and available if they ever want to use me. That’s all I can do.”
As for Craig Counsell in early August he had a discussion with him about his playing time. The good play that the Brewers have received from rookie Andruw Monasterio has resulted in him earning the everyday job.
“I talked to ‘BA’ and we’re at the point of the season where, for the most part here, we’re going play the guys that give us the best shot. And that means that right now, BA is having to not get to play that much. That’s the way it is. He knows that it could happen at any time and he could be back in there. You’ve got to stay ready and that’s part of being a professional.”
“The priority is to win games. That’s first. Andruw’s playing well. Brian, I’ve talked to Brian a couple of times and I think he’s done a good job of trying to stay ready and it’s not easy. But the priority is always gonna be just to win the game and that’s not going to change.”
The Brewers have about three and half weeks of regular season baseball. As Counsell mentioned he could call upon his veteran at any time, so all he can do right now is remain ready and positive as Milwaukee looks to punch their ticket to the post season.
