The Milwaukee Brewers lost to the Arizona Diamondbacks by a score of 6-3 during the opening game of the Wild Card Series. In total Milwaukee left 11 base runners stranded and they did not score after the second inning. One big play that prevented a Brewers big inning was a sensational leaping grab by third baseman Evan Longoria.
During the fifth inning Milwaukee appeared to have tied the game on a Brice Turang bases loaded hit by pitch. Arizona went on to challenge this and it was overturned. Brice Turang ended up striking out, which brought Tyrone Taylor to the plate with just one out.

He ended up hitting an elevated liner to the third base side that Evan Longoria snagged in the middle of the air and then doubled off Willy Adames at second base to end the inning. Following this play fans on both sides reacted.

Milwaukee Brewers and Arizona Diamondbacks fans react to sensational double play from Evan Longoria.

.770 xBA on Tyrone Taylor’s line drive. Instead, it’s an inning-ending double play thanks to a tremendous play at third base by Evan Longoria.
