Head coach Matt LaFleur spent a considerable amount of time talking about injuries Monday heading into NFL Week 17. The Green Bay Packers had four players go down during their game against the Miami Dolphins. They ultimately prevailed on Christmas Day, improving their chances of a postseason appearance. LaFleur provided an update on the Packers’ offensive tackle situation during his press conference.
Matt LaFleur had plenty of injuries to address to begin NFL Week 17
The Packers were without starting left tackle David Bakhtiari, who was subsequently on the team’s inactive list Sunday. Right tackle Yosh Nijman had to leave the game with a shoulder injury. According to Tom Silverstein with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, LaFleur said Nijman’s status would be day-to-day. So Nijman’s shoulder injury does not appear to be serious, but he could potentially miss the game in NFL Week 17 against the Minnesota Vikings.

Nijman’s status is much like the other players who were injured Sunday. That’s a good sign, as the Packers certainly need health to be on their side as they try and win out to earn a final NFC Wild Card spot, including here in NFL Week 17. Nijman needs to be a reliable protector at right tackle. The Packers have had instability at the left tackle position after Bakhtiari’s appendectomy added to his murky weekly status as he rehabs his knee.

Put Jones in the slot for routes and sweeps plus it would make great decoy stuff for Dillon and others.
