There is no question that Giannis Antetokounmpo loves Milwaukee. He has repeatedly stated that Milwaukee is his home and that the Bucks are his team. Even though he could have forgone his supermax extension and gone to a bigger market, he signed an extension with Milwaukee. The move paid off, in a way. Giannis and the Bucks won the NBA Championship in 2021 before his deal even kicked in. Now that the Bucks’ season is over, Giannis is taking trips with his family. He recently visited Los Angeles, and the two-time MVP did not mince words when asked what he thought of the city.
There are probably a lot of people that agree with you, @Giannis_An34. 💀😅 pic.twitter.com/CR0dAnEgYf

This is such a Giannis Antetokounmpo thing to say. This is a man who has made over $146 million so far in his NBA career. That does not include endorsement deals; it’s just what the Bucks have paid him.

Remember When Everyone Thought Giannis Would Leave Milwaukee?
Of course, the most ironic part of all of this is that many analysts and fans of large market teams were convinced Giannis would leave Milwaukee. Many believed he would leave for Los Aneles and team up with LeBron James. Others believed he was headed for Miami, the team that knocked him out of the playoffs in 2020. As it turned out, the only one who left Milwaukee for Los Angeles was Darvin Ham.

To be fair, Wes Matthews left Milwaukee for Los Angeles as well. The Marquette product returned to the Bucks, though, midway through the 2021-22 season and was relied on heavily (too heavily) in the playoffs.
The fact of the matter is this: Giannis is a Milwaukee Buck. He may leave eventually, but given his penchant for loyalty, don’t be surprised if he never leaves.
