The Packers are in a world of hurt right now. They are amid a three-game losing streak and some key players are battling injuries. One of those players is Packers WR1 Allen Lazard. It has not looked good for the first part of the week but there have been no definitive words about Lazard’s status. That changed today when Allen Lazard revealed his status for Sunday.
Allen Lazard Reveals Status For Sunday
#Packers WR Allen Lazard says he heard a “snap, crackle, pop” in his shoulder when he was tackled in the third quarter Sunday. He is not concerned long term, but Lazard does not expect to play in Buffalo. “Probably not,” he says.

It does not look good for Allen Lazard on Sunday. When asked about whether he would play Sunday he said, “Probably not.” This is the first that we have heard about Lazard being out for Sunday’s huge game against the Bills. Head coach Matt LaFleur has been repeating “we’ll see” all week though that didn’t seem promising either. Ultimately, this probably doesn’t come as a huge surprise to anyone. Lazard said he heard a “snap, crackle, pop,” in his shoulder so it is not surprising that it needs time to heal. The good news is that he is not concerned about it long-term and can hopefully be back on the field soon.
A Huge Loss For The Packers
Lazard is Aaron Rodgers‘ favorite target. He has made some huge catches this year as well. The receiver room looks much weaker with Romeo Doubs, Sammy Watkins, and the perpetually frustrating Amari Rodgers being the headliners. Christian Watson has practiced the last two days but who knows if he will play on Sunday. Maybe Samori Toure gets more looks this week as well with the thinness at wide receiver. In a game where the Packers need to win, having your top receiver out is not good.
It is do-or-die time for the Packers’ offense. Someone has to step up and make some big plays in the passing game. Either Sammy Watkins or Romeo Doubs needs a breakout game. Christian Watson has to play and be more than a gadget player. Heck, let’s dream big and give Amari Rodgers a chance to break out. Whoever it is, the Packers are going to need players to step up in a big way on Sunday.
