The Green Bay Packers made the controversial decision to move on from Aaron Rodgers after the 2022 season. Just days before the 2023 NFL Draft the Packers trade Rodgers to the New York Jets in a blockbuster trade.
That move set in motion the Jordan Love era in Green Bay. At the conclusion of the 2023-24 season, most Packers fans felt like it was the right move. Love proved himself to have what it takes to lead his team to the post season and even contend for a possible Super Bowl.
However, that didn’t stop one former Packers wide receiver from publicly announcing how he felt about Rodgers.
One Former Green Bay Packers Wide Receiver Had A Lot To Say About Aaron Rodgers
According to Adam Wells of Bleacher Report:
Aaron Rodgers received high praise from a wide receiver who spent four seasons catching passes from him with the Green Bay Packers.
Appearing on CBS Sports Radio’s The Zach Gelb Show, Marquez Valdes-Scantling called Rodgers “one of the greatest teammates” he’s ever had.
Valdes-Scantling spent the first four years of his NFL career with the Packers. He was a fifth-round pick in 2018 and emerged as a big-play receiver for Rodgers.
The 29-year-old averaged 17.5 yards per reception in 59 games with the Packers. It’s the fifth-highest yards per catch average of any player in franchise history who had at least 100 receptions.
Valdes-Scantling led the league with 20.9 yards per reception and caught six touchdown passes during the 2020 season when Rodgers won his third of four MVP awards.

Would Marquez-Valdes Scantling Join Back Up With Rodgers?
No one was surprised when the Chiefs released veteran wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling following the 2023 season. Despite his three-year, $30 million contract, the South Florida product had not lived up to expectations ahead of a pivotal offseason.
Despite the Chiefs’ intentions to give Valdes-Scantling “a head start on free agency,” he hasn’t benefited at all from the early release. There have been few credible links to him from other teams.
It is true that he was a steady member of the Chiefs wide receiver room and showed his mental fortitude by rebounding from more rough outings than good ones.On the other hand, he was an overall disappointment from a statistical standpoint.
His play with Rodgers is what got him his three-year deal. Would it be possible the Jets would bring in another one of Rodgers’ former teammates?
