Milwaukee Brewers rookie Oliver Dunn demolished his first career home run in the big leagues on Friday night against the Seattle Mariners. The Brewers won this game in walk-off fashion by a score of 6-5 and Dunn’s 413 foot blast was one of three solo home runs from the Crew. His blast off of Logan Gilbert will be something that he will remember forever and thankfully he was able to get the baseball back afterwards.
Oliver Dunn hit his first career home run 413 feet (watch) off Seattle Mariners pitcher Logan Gilbert.
During the fourth inning Dunn got a fastball at chest height and near the center of the plate. He took full advantage of the mistake pitch and launched a no doubter into the right field bleachers. Later on in the game he also picked up an RBI base hit.

The Milwaukee Brewers acquired Oliver Dunn via trade this off-season.
This off-season the Brewers traded two top 30 prospects in Hendry Mendez and Robert Moore to the Philadelphia Phillies in exchange for 26 year old Oliver Dunn. At the time of the deal Dunn had very limited experience in the upper levels of the minor leagues (seven games of Triple-A experience), but he put together a solid Double-A season and was arguably the best player in the 2023 Arizona Fall League. It’s clear that Milwaukee did their homework on him as the infielder/designated hitter has been off to a great start so far in 2024.
One family was rewarded for returning Oliver Dunn’s baseball that was from his first career MLB home run.
In a video from Curt Hogg post game Oliver Dunn talked about getting the silent treatment following his home run and getting the baseball back. He traded with a dad and his kid in which all they asked for was a few signed baseballs and a photo.
