One of the Green Bay Packers’ top priorities in the near future will be extending their star pass rusher, Rashan Gary. Gary is entering the fifth and final year of his rookie contract and is due for a huge payday.
Before tearing his ACL last season, Gary was expected to be one of the best pass rushers in the NFL. In 25 games since the start of 2021, he has posted 15 1/2 sacks, 40 quarterback hits, and an 18.9 percent pressure rate – second among edge rushers (Micah Parsons, 20.8).
San Francisco 49ers Contract Extension For Nick Bosa Speaks Volumes About Green Bay Packers Next Extension For Rashan Gary

Nick Bosa’s holdout with the San Francisco 49ers ended in spectacular fashion Wednesday afternoon. Bosa had been sitting out of 49ers training camp this summer as the star defensive end wanted a better deal.
According to Ian Rapoport with the NFL Network, the 49ers agreed to terms with Bosa on a five-year deal worth $170 million. Bosa, with 43 career sacks in four seasons, is set to become the highest-paid pass rusher in the league.
The 25-year-old defensive end was the 2022 Defensive Player of the Year. Bosa, the second overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, has made the Pro Bowl three times and was nominated All-Pro once. The 49ers knew they’d have to give up a lot of money to keep him, and they did.
While Gary doesn’t have quite the resume that Bosa does, it is no secret he has the potential to be one of the best pass rushers in the league.
Spotrac’s market value estimations indicate that Gary – a 25-year-old outside linebacker with the Packers – is expected to sign a $104.2 million, four-year extension with the Packers. That would make Gary fourth among outside linebackers in the league and 22nd overall in the NFL. For perspective, T.J. Watt reached a four-year contract worth $112 million as a 26-year-old, while Maxx Crosby reached a four-year contract worth $94 million as a 24-year-old.
