Matt LaFleur and the Green Bay Packers know that their upcoming match against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 2 would be anything but easy. Without Jordan Love under center, the long-time Packers head coach knows his work is cut out for him when executing his game plans on the turf.
While Malik Willis is preparing himself for his first start as Green Bay QB, LaFleur understands more than anyone knows the former Liberty standout wouldn’t be enough to add a notch to the win column. The entire team must step up if they want to win their first game of the season.
However, one analyst argues that LaFleur also has to do his part to help the Pakcers win against the Indianapolis Colts. He argues that the tactician needs to make the right adjustments to his game plan if they want to have any chance at victory.

Forbes’ Rob Reischel details what the Packers need to do to win against Indianapolis despite the absence of their star quarterback. He highlighted that Jordan Love only got one sack because of his ability to improvise and scramble away from the box:
LaFleur simply didn’t give his young quarterback enough help in this area.
“Where I was disappointed was just situationally, when they were coming after us on third downs, I was disappointed with myself in terms of not having a better protection plan for him,” LaFleur said. “If you don’t make a defense pay when they’re bringing pressure, they’re going to continue to do that. And that’s exactly what happened.”
If Willis plays Sunday, LaFleur will have to be dramatically better in giving him the necessary help to succeed.
The Colts’ defensive line isn’t as elite as Philly’s, so the offensive line shouldn’t have a tough time trying to contain them. However, Matt LaFleur still should make the necessary changes to protect Willis and help him succeed with his first start with the team.
