There are plenty of Green Bay Packers fans who believe that 2023 is going to be a rebuilding year for the team. After all, they have transitioned away from Aaron Rodgers to Jordan Love, have all first and second year wide receivers, and drafted two new tight ends. That being said, the special teams (which was greatly improved last season) is still stacked with talent and the defense has all the talent it needs to be dominant (the jury is out on whether the defensive coordinator can utilize it).
The Packers are certainly not approaching the 2023 season as a rebuilding year, and All-Pro kick returner Keisean Nixon has strong words for anyone who thinks that it is.

It was reported on Sunday night that the Packers will not be re-signing veteran tight end Marcedes Lewis. This led to many fan reactions on social media, some saying that the 2023 season is a building block for future seasons, or a rebuild. Nixon found one of these posts and was not having any of the rebuild talk:

The Packers will certainly be facing many challenges this season with such a young team. There are not many who believe that they will be very competitive this year. They have gone from being the hunted to the hunter. And it sounds like the team has embraced that.

Seems there’s no better reason to resign Marcedes Lewis for 1 more season for the simple reason you have two rookie Tight Ends that will need mentoring. And of course having Deguria as your most experienced tight end doesn’t exactly inspire any confidence.
