The Green Bay Packers did not make many attempts to sign outside free agents. Rather, they focused their energy on retaining the free agents from their own team that they felt they needed to in order to build a competitive team around Jordan Love. One of these players was All Pro return specialist Keisean Nixon who, despite being the Packers’ kick returner for about half of the season, led the NFL in returns (35) and return yards (1,009). He also had the longest kick return in the NFL last season, a 105-yard return for a touchdown. As it turns out, Nixon did not want to go play anywhere else after his successful season in Green Bay.

Nixon was interviewed by Larry McCarren on the Packers official website. During his interview, he spoke about his decision to re-sign with Green Bay:
“I didn’t really want to go anywhere. I had conversations with my agent, and I feel like it was the best situation was for me to come back here regardless of what other teams offered. “I got here, I got comfortable, and I met so many gerat people. I want to make this home.
“I don’t feel like I accomplished much last year. All I did was get my name out there. This will be the year I show them who I really am. What I bring to the table wasn’t a fluke.”
As mentioned previously, Nixon was the Packers’ kick returner for just half a season. As a First Team All Pro, he was already named the best kick returner in the NFL. Just imagine what he will be able to do with a full season of kick returns…
