The center position for the Green Bay Packers isn’t an area of weakness anymore.
(Via Zach Krause) of the Packers’ wire, center Josh Myers is the number six overall center by Pro Football Focus (PFF) over the last four games.
I'm not sure the timeline is ready for this tweet, but…
Josh Myers is the No. 6 overall center by @PFF grade over the last 4 games.

Remember last year, when Packers’ content creators would break down film each week and label players like Royce Newman and Josh Myers as weaknesses along the offensive line? That is no longer the case, as Newman serves as a backup and hasn’t seen much action this year, and Myers is starting to look like the guy Green Bay drafted in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
What Josh Myers’ Strong Play Means for the Green Bay Packers
Since Thanksgiving Day, everything has been rolling right for the Green and Gold. Jordan Love has looked like a franchise quarterback, the complement of receivers has stepped up, the offensive line has looked formidable, and the defense is holding opponents at bay.
But nobody has been as vital to the team’s success as Josh Myers. A year ago, Myers was criticized by local beat reporters as not being an adequate replacement for his predecessor. Corey Linsley. Many viewed the Myers selection as a “bust,” with the local media and fans viewing Kansas City Chiefs C Creed Humphrey as the better prospect.
Now it’s Myers, helping Jordan Love look like the next guy in Green Bay. Last month, Myers received praise from GM Brian Gutekunst about his play. (Via Bill Huber SI)
” I think Josh Myers is playing his best football since he’s been here.” Gutekunst said.
Offensive coordinator and former offensive line coach Adam Stenavich views Myers as the leader on the offensive line. (Via Bill Huber SI)
“From a locker-room standpoint, he’s really taken a big leadership role in the offensive line. Stenavich said on November 3. “As the center, that’s a very very important thing. He’s done a good job getting the table, set, calls, all that stuff. From a leadership standpoint, that’s been awesome. And then on the field, he’s been playing with good physicality, he’s moving really well doing a better job in pass pro using his hands, and playing in good phase, so he’s doing a good job.
Offensive Line Coach Luke Butkus shared the same sentiment last month. (Via Bill Huber SI)
“He’s building some confidence.” Butkus said. “Josh is a prideful guy. He’s big, he’s strong, he’s tough. Now he’s starting to build some confidence in his balance, his footwork and everything about understanding the game plan. The confidence that’s he’s playing with, it’s been good to see because there are flashes- again consistency is the big thing for us and he needs to do it- but he is flashing.”
Interestingly, three prominent members of the Green Bay Packers organization told everyone a month ago that Josh Myers was playing his best football. But the fans and content creators held onto the notion that he was terrible and that the team should have taken Creed Humphrey.
But Jordan Love doesn’t develop at the level we’re seeing right now without Josh Myers playing his best football at the same time.
