One of the things that the Green Bay Packers did this offseason to improve the football was signing running back Josh Jacobs off the free agent market. Jacobs is one of the most talented running backs in the NFL when healthy. He started his NFL career with the Las Vegas Raiders, but Josh Jacobs hopes he can win more often with the Packers.

A season ago with the Las Vegas Raiders, he rushed for 805 yards on 233 carries and six touchdowns. Jacobs averaged 3.5 yards per carry. In the 2022 NFL season, he led the NFL in rushing yards with 1,653 yards.
Josh Jacobs will be the starting running back for the Green Bay Packers in 2024. Rookie Marshawn Lloyd and A.J. Dillon will be behind him on the depth chart.
Green Bay Packers Running Back Josh Jacobs Trying To Recruit Davante Adams Back To the Team

Jacobs spoke to reporters on Wednesday during OTAs. He said to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic:
“When I came out here … I sent him the little eyes emoji. I said, ‘You thinking about coming back?’ But man, he loved it.”
Adams was with the Packers from 2014-2021, He was traded to the Raiders during the 2022 NFL offseason because there was uncertainty about Aaron Rodgers’s future with the franchise at the time.
Davante Adams has played with the Raiders for the past two seasons and Jacobs was teammates with him then. That would be interesting if Green Bay did trade for Adams back. The Raiders will not be in playoff contention this season.
Davante Adams should draw interest from several teams at the NFL trade deadline in 2024. A season ago with Las Vegas, he caught 103 passes for 1,144 yards receiving and eight touchdowns. Adams also averaged 11.1 yards per carry.
He would no doubt become the number one wide receiver option for quarterback Jordan Love. The Packers wide receiver room is stacked even without Adams. Josh Jacobs also added to Schneidman about the current group of wide receivers on the roster:
“The receiving corps is crazy, man. I’m so excited just watching them. Any one of them can go at any moment.”
Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed, and Dontayvion Wicks will be the primary wide receivers in the Packers offense this season. If they were to trade for Davante Adams at any point, the Packers would probably have to give up one of those wide receivers and also another draft pick.

This is a nice sales pitch for Jacobs to try and get Adams back to the Packers. However, if all four of those wide receivers are successful why mess up the chemistry? Green Bay doesn’t need him with the young talent they have. Teams like the Dallas Cowboys and the Baltimore Ravens will be more desperate to make a trade for him.
