The Green Bay Packers have to feel good going into the 2024 season. After finishing the regular season 9-8, they went on an impressive run in the playoffs. Defeating the Dallas Cowboys in the Wild Card round shocked the NFL. Being just three points shy of reaching the NFC Championship game was nearly as impressive.
Josh Jacobs and Xavier McKinney were the two splash signings this off-season that got fans even more excited for 2024. Now Jacobs has announced he texted an All-Pro when he joined the team.
New Green Bay Packers Running Back Josh Jacobs Texted A Familiar Name When He Joined The Team
According to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic:
Josh Jacobs: “The receiving corps is crazy, man. I’m so excited just watching them. Any one of them can go at any moment.”
Also Jacobs on Davante Adams: “When I came out here … I sent him the little eyes emoji. I said, ‘You thinking about coming back?’ But man, he loved it.”
Would The Packers Ever Have A Chance To Get Davante Adams Back?
After being franchise tagged by the Green Bay Packers, Adams’ football home for eight seasons (2014-2021), Adams faced a career-defining decision.
A new, long-term deal was on Adams’ mind, but since Aaron Rodgers’ long-term commitment was up in the air, he opted to ask for a trade to the Raiders in order to reunite with Derek Carr, his best friend from college at Fresno State.
In exchange for Vegas’ 2022 first and second round picks, Adams signed a five-year, $140 million contract with the Raiders. That contract runs through the 2026 season. Adams will be 33 turning 34 that season.
