The Green Bay Packers entered Thursday’s Thanksgiving matchup against the Detroit Lions looking for their second straight win. However, they were considered the underdogs in this NFC North divisional matchup against a Lions side that had previously lost only two out of their 10 games this season.
As it turns out, however, the Packers were not handed a copy of the script. They managed to pull off a massive upset, 29-22, en route to marking a crucial win against their NFC North rivals.
Jordan Love Puts In Massive Performance for Green Bay Packers
The man of the moment has got to be Jordan Love. The young quarterback turned in a masterful performance in what is easily one of his best outings as Green Bay’s QB1.
Love led a shorthanded Packers side that did not have the services of Aaron Jones, Jaire Alexander, Luke Musgrave, and De’Vondre Campell, among others, with a handful of active players also nursing respective injuries.
The 25-year-old quarterback came up big for his team, completing 22 out of his 32 passes for 268 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Love garnered a passer rating of 125.5.
It was another impressive performance for Green Bay’s cornerstone quarterback following his first career 300-yard game last Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers.
NFL World Reacts to Jordan Love’s Masterclass
Love has been on the receiving end of a lot of criticism throughout the season. To be fair, he’s given the naysayers more than a few reasons to call him out in his first year as the Packers’ QB1.
This absolutely was not the case on Thursday night, though. Love made a lot of noise on Thanksgiving, and the football world was more than happy to heap praise on the young quarterback on Twitter:
