Jordan Love’s impressive 2023 NFL season as a regular starter for the Green Bay Packers has fans believing again in the franchise. The departure of Aaron Rodgers from Green Bay left many of the team’s supporters wondering how long would it take for the Packers to be good again. Apparently, they did not have to wait for long, as the Packers immediately went to the NFL playoffs in Year 1 of the post-Rodgers era, thanks in large part to Love.

But is Love great enough to warrant visions of multiple Super Bowl wins for the Packers with him as QB1? Not so fast, according to Dan Graziano of ESPN, who gave that notion an overreaction verdict.
Winning the Super Bowl is hard! Winning it twice is even harder!! I’m not going to put those kinds of expectations on Love; I don’t think it’s fair.
In any case, one has to give Love at least a passing mark for his performance as the Packers starting quarterback. In 2023, Love threw for a total of 4,159 passing yards and 32 touchdowns against 11 interceptions on a 64.2 percent completion rate. The ceiling is high for Love, whose experience as a full-time starter and playing outside of the shadow of Rodgers should only make him better. But for the moment, those talks about multiple Super Bowl wins for the young signal-caller will have to take a rest.
Love has shown us enough to deserve the benefit of the doubt, and I expect the Packers to continue to be perennial contenders. But telling a 25-year-old who just completed his first season as a starter that he’ll win more than one Super Bowl feels like a lot.
