It was quite the campaign for Milwaukee Bucks big man Bobby Portis. The 29-year-old proved that he is one of the most effective bench scorers in the entire league, rounding off his season with a Sixth Man of the Year nomination.
Portis went through a number of lows this season, though, with his most recent debacle coming in the form of his early ejection in the Bucks’ crucial Game 4 loss to the Indiana Pacers.
In the end, though, Portis is able to look back at this past campaign as a success — in more ways that one.
Milwaukee Bucks News: Bobby Portis Shouts Out Fans

Now that the dust has settled on Milwaukee’s way-too-early playoff exit, Portis has been able to compose himself to come out with a special message for everyone who had this back this season. On Tuesday night, the 6-foot-10 big man took to X, formerly Twitter, to send a heartfelt shoutout to the Bucks faithful:
Thank you to my fans for all the support all season long! The season didn’t end how I wanted it to but this season I got better! Learned a lot about myself. So many highs and lows and I’m blessed to be able to experience this because I know what it will do for me going forward. pic.twitter.com/S6Hs7yQjvb

Not every Bucks fan out there is head over heels in love with Portis. In fact, there have been a few times wherein the supporters took out their frustration on the enigmatic forward/center. Calls for Portis’ trade away from Milwaukee has popped up multiple times this season, and the rumors have reared its ugly head again after the campaign officially came to an end.
I’m pretty sure Portis is well aware of the negativity that is constantly being thrown in his direction, and as always, he’s taking it all in stride. Portis has been through all sorts of adversity in the past, and he’s constantly used the hate to fuel his rise to the top.
As he said in his post, it’s all about learning from past experience — both the good and the bad.
