The Green Bay Packers are entering a new stage in their franchise, moving on from legendary quarterback Aaron Rodgers after 17 years. The Packers have been a playoff team for the majority of the last two decades, thanks to Rodgers, but now it’s time for Jordan Love to create his legacy. NFL YouTuber “MMG” teamed up with former Packers quarterback Kurt Benkert and built a team around Love on Madden 24 to win a championship. This is also known as a “rebuild” in the YouTube world. Benkert did a fantastic job but made some very interesting decisions, to say the least.
Kurt Benkert Suggested moving David Bakhtiari from the Green Bay Packers to reunite with Aaron Rodgers
With both David Bakhtiary and Rodgers being out for the season due to injury, this is an impossible move to do this year. However, next season, if Rodgers decides to play, the Packers could very well look to deal Bakhtiari to the Jets.
The deal in the video included Bakhtiari, a first-round pick, and three second-round picks in exchange for Garrett Wilson and Mekhi Becton Sr. While it’s very unrealistic, a deal like this would be incredible for the Packers.
It’s becoming evident that they’ll have to move on from their All-Pro tackle at some point, and moving him for a receiver to help develop Love would be the perfect trade. Unfortunately, their best bet at receiver would be Davante Adams, but the Raiders wouldn’t trade their All-Pro player for someone who won’t see the field again this season.
While it may not be for Wilson, and he may not go to the Jets, it’s possible the Packers do a trade next season to boost their receiving core and offload Bakhtiari’s contract.
Kurt Benkert Wants to go All-In on Jordan Love and the Passing Game
Along with suggesting trading for Wilson, he also suggested getting a star-tight end to further boost the Packers’ receiving core. The trade in the video was extremely unrealistic as the Packers moved Aaron Jones and a third, fourth, fifth, and sixth-round pick in exchange for Kyle Pitts. However, the concept makes a lot of sense.
Even with Jones back in the lineup in week four, the Packers were a pass-first offense. Giving Love the keys, it appears the Packers are letting their 24-year-old quarterback lead the way. If the Packers were to trade for a tight end, one feasible option is T.J. Hockenson. The Vikings’ run game is atrocious and could use Jones, to say the least. Jones is also eating away a lot of cap space and not being utilized the way he should.
It should be noted that this was all just for fun, and these are all just ideas. However, the premise of these ideas could actually be very helpful for the Packers. Benkert may have been onto something, as Green Bay went on to win the 2025 Super Bowl in the video.
