The Green Bay Packers coaching staff is praising the Falcons defense ahead of Sunday’s matchup against them. Green Bay is looking to improve to 2-0 on the year. The Packers played a relatively easy defense last week against the Chicago Bears.
Even though the Atlanta Falcons have not had a good defense in the last couple of years, their defense should not be overlooked. According to Aaron Nagler’s Twitter, who is the co-founder of cheesehead TV, retweeted a tweet that Dan Orlovsky said and replied to it and said:
” “This defense is crazy” is what a Packers coach texted me about them yesterday. Big test for Jordan Love and company.”
He responded to this tweet on Wednesday, September 13. For the last couple of seasons, the Atlanta Falcons defense had only 18 total sacks in 2021 which was the worst ranking in the NFL, and had only 22 a season ago, which was ranked 31st in the NFL.

In the first game of the season, the Falcons only held the Carolina Panthers to 10 points. They forced three turnovers in that football game as well. Atlanta made personnel changes this past offseason on the defensive side of the football. Some of the free agents they brought in this past offseason were Jessie Bates III, Kaden Elliss, David Onyemata, Calais Campbell, and Bud Dupree.
The Green Bay Packers Need To Be Creative On Offense This Weekend

The Green Bay Packers offense will need to be creative this weekend if they are going to get by this Atlanta Falcons defense. Jordan Love will need to be effective again this week after throwing for three touchdowns last week. Green Bay will potentially not have running back Aaron Jones and wide receiver Christian Watson this weekend because they both have hamstring injuries.

A.J. Dillon will be the starting running back and expect Emanuel Wilson to get some carries as well over Patrick Taylor Jr. Romeo Doubs and rookie Jayden Reed at the wide receiver position will be ready to go. Green Bay will have to establish the run game to open up the passing game. If they can’t do that against the new and improved Atlanta Falcons defense, they will be in for a long day.
It is a good thing that the Green Bay Packers coaching staff is taking notice of this new and improved Atlanta Falcons defense. It will be important for them to play ahead on Sunday and not from behind with the kind of offense Atlanta likes to run as well.
