There have been rumors that the Green Bay Packers would possibly be open to trading Aaron Rodgers ever since the team lost to the Detroit Lions in Week 18. Of course, any possible trade is dependent on whether or not Rodgers even wants to return to play football at all in 2023. If he does decided that he wants to play, there are many who speculate that the Packers will try to trade him and hand the keys of the franchise over to Jordan Love.
If that is the case, many assume that Green Bay will try to get at least one first round pick in return. However, according to Sports Illustrated‘s Albert Breer, the Packers’ asking price may be too high.
The Green Bay Packers May Not Get Any First Round Picks for Aaron Rodgers

Again, there is still a possibility that the Packers do not trade Rodgers. He may retire or the team may decide to start him for one more year. However, if they do indeed try to trade him, Breer says that their reported asking price is far to high:
“Obviously, as we noted Monday morning, Green Bay’s willingness to offload Rodgers is one reason for that. Another, as I see it, is the knowledge that if a trade is going to happen, the sooner the Packers get to shop Rodgers, the better. It only takes one, but I’ve talked to a couple teams who think, because of Rodgers’s haul of nearly $60 million for 2023, Green Bay won’t get a first-round pick for its future Hall of Fame quarterback.”
Last offseason, there were reports that the Denver Broncos wanted to trade for Aaron Rodgers, and were willing to pay a massive price. Of course, that did not happen and they ended up trading for former Wisconsin Badgers quarterback Russell Wilson instead. That trade, so far, is not working out very well for the Broncos, and that disaster may also keep teams from being willing to give up so much for an aging Rodgers as well.
