Green Bay Packers: In addition to his greatness on the football field, Aaron Rodgers has also made headlines off the field at the Kentucky Derby. In addition to showcasing his affinity for horses, the Jets quarterback paid a heartfelt tribute to one former Green Bay teammate.
As he engaged in a rapid-fire Q&A session on social media platform X, Rodgers offered a glimpse into his lesser-known interests beyond the world of American football. Normally seen with his NFL colleagues, Rodgers went solo into the Derby.

According to reporter Olivia Smith:
When posed with the question of what he would name a hypothetical horse, Rodgers delivered a response brimming with camaraderie and admiration.
“Corey Linsley, because that boy’s got stamina,” exclaimed the 40-year-old, shedding light on the enduring bond shared between the two athletes. The mention of Linsley, who served as the Packers’ center before departing for the Los Angeles Chargers, evoked nostalgia for their shared moments on the gridiron.
Rodgers’ tribute to Linsley transcended mere admiration, offering insight into the symbiotic relationship cultivated through years of shared triumphs and challenges.
As the quarterback reflected on his equestrian endeavors, he humorously designated himself as the would-be “Owner” of his imaginary equine team, infusing the conversation with his trademark wit and charm.

Corey Linsley And Aaron Rodgers Were Teammates In Green Bay For Years
The Green Bay Packers selected Linsley in the fifth round (161st overall) of the 2014 NFL draft.
Linsley was initially expected to be the Packers’ backup center in 2014, but an injury to starting center J. C. Tretter late in the preseason forced Linsley into the starter’s role. Linsley started every regular season game as well as both playoff games even after Tretter came back from his injury.
Linsley was in Green Bay though the 2020 season and was a center piece of the offensive line. In 2021 he signed with the Los Angeles Chargers and has been there ever since.
