As the playoff race heats up, the Milwaukee Brewers got a huge win in Los Angeles last evening against a Dodgers team that is having a historical season. Here are five key moments from the Brew Crew’s 4-0 victory…
5. Willy Adames Hustle

Going into the top of the ninth inning, the Brew Crew clung to a 1-0 lead. Willy Adames led off by trying to avoid the golden sombrero after having struck out in each of his three at bats so far. “The Kid” blooped a hit to shallow left and decided a single wasn’t good enough. Willy turned on the speed and hustled into second base for a lead off double. He’d score after the next batter Yelich doubled him home for a 2-0 lead.
4. Hiura Blasts Solo Shot For Insurance Run

With Milwaukee up 3-0 in the ninth with two outs and nobody on base, Keston Hiura took Dodgers reliever Phil Bickford deep to add an exclamation point on a three-run inning. It was Kestdaddy’s 13th dinger of 2022.
3. Urias Takes Urias Deep

In a scoreless game with two outs and nobody on in the fourth inning, Luis Urias came up to face Julio Urias. Luis had no hits in his previous 21 at bats before launching his 14th homer of the year and giving the Brewers a 1-0 lead. The home run ended up being all that Milwaukee’s pitching and defense would need.
2. Lauer & Bullpen Blank Dodgers Bats

Going into last nights game, the Dodgers had not been shut out at home a single time all season. That ended when Eric Lauer took the bump. Gomer tossed five scoreless frames and left the game in line for the win. That victory came to fruition via four more zeros over the final four innings by three Milwaukee relievers. A big strike out of Freddie Freeman and great defensive play behind him kept Lauer on top of a prestigious list. He has the lowest ERA versus the Dodgers of any active pitcher in all of Major League Baseball. The Dodgers manager Dave Roberts had high praise for Lauer.
1. Big Game By Christian Yelich

Yelich showed off his arm by throwing out Turner at the plate to keep the game scoreless through two. A few innings later Christian made a nice sliding catch on a ball hit by Cody Bellinger. Yeli added two hits at the plate to his game resume. The big hit came in the ninth after a hustling double from Adames led off the frame. Yelich smacked a two-bagger of his own on a liner into the left-center field gap and scored on a Sac Fly.
This was a huge win for the Brew Crew. Milwaukee currently stands just a game and a half back of a wild card spot.
