MarJon Beauchamp, the 24th selection in the 2022 NBA Draft for the Bucks, saw sporadic playing time in his first NBA season. Yet, that is part of the growing pains of a young player on a win-now team. Beauchamp showed a lot of flashes when called upon, scoring in double figures 11 times and posting a career-high in points with 20 in November.
In recent Bucks trade rumors, Beauchamp has been the feature name in a lot of proposed trades by writers and fans. But, I’m here to tell you let’s pump the breaks on being so open to sending away the 22-year-old so soon.
Don’t Give Up Too Early On Bucks Forward MarJon Beauchamp
Elite Defender In the Making?
Beauchamp size and athleticism gives him the potential to grow into a great wing defender the Bucks desperately need to have going forward. With not much cap room to wiggle with, MarJon Beauchamp will be called upon with the current lack of depth at the small forward position. If the Bucks want him to grow into a potential great defender, they are going to need to let him play through his development and mistakes, which is the only way he can get better.
The Bucks also have a lack of future draft picks due to the Jrue Holiday trade in 2020, so to give up on a player who was only drafted only a year ago in the first round would not make much sense to me.
Greece Living
Beauchamp has a big summer ahead of him to continue to grow his game. It helps tremendously that he will be traveling to Greece to workout with Giannis Antetokounmpo, as showed discussing with Lori Nickel, during the press conference of new head coach, Adrian Griffin.

Giannis inviting MarJon Beauchamp to Greece shows the beliefs and expectations he has for Beauchamp. If the team’s best player believes in his ability, fans should possibly too..
Roles Are Open
While Beauchamp may never grow into an elite offensive player, the Bucks need him to continue to develop and bring his level of play upwards. MarJon Beauchamp has a different style of game, which brings in a lot of energy and his play is all about business. His game contributes perfectly to a team that is hungry to settle some unfinished business.
There are roles to every championship team. And there is a role wide-open for Beauchamp to take, especially with a new coaching staff in Milwaukee. What championship team doesn’t want a player who is willing to put the team first and have a defensive-first mindset?
The franchise’s savior sees it in Beauchamp, now will you?
