BEFORE WE BEGIN, I want you to know this: I’m THRILLED Aaron Rodgers is back with the Green Bay Packers!
But I don’t think Aaron Rodgers realizes how lucky he is…
You know the drama. If I recapped it all, it would take too long and this article would be 3 pages long so let’s not dwell on the last 4 months. He’s back for 2021. And then…who knows? If the reigning MVP wants out of Green Bay 9 months from now, I hope he remembers one thing: He’s not going to be in a better situation than he’s in right now.
If he does get traded next offseason, Aaron Rodgers will NOT get traded to a good team. He will NOT go to a team that is built to win Superbowls. He will NOT go to a team that has the following:
- The best offensive line in the NFL
- A top 3 Wide Receiver in Davante Adams
- A top 5 Running Back in Aaron Jones
- After a breakout season last year, a top 10 Tight End in Bob Tonyan
- A top 10 defense
Aaron Rodgers currently has ALL OF THIS in Green Bay and a coach who LOVES him. No other team in the NFL has this and if they’re close, the Packers won’t be trading him there any time soon. And not to be “Debbie Downer”, but a reminder: with all of THIS, Rodgers couldn’t get the Packers into the endzone during the NFC Championship AT LAMBEAU FIELD, after getting 3 extra chances from Tom Brady. Anyone who tells you the Packers haven’t done enough for Rodgers is 100% full of crap. Do you think Mahomes would like this offensive line? Think Lamar Jackson would like to have Davante to throw to? Think Josh Allen would enjoy throwing to Tonyan? Imagine if Dak Prescott had this defense next year.
Oh…and now he’s got Randall Cobb to throw to.
Aaron Rodgers won’t have a better chance to get over the hump and get back to a Superbowl, than this year with this team. If Rodgers & the Packers come up empty once again in the NFC Championship and he forces his way out of Green Bay, then 2021 may have been his last, great shot for a while.
Conclusion
As Packers fans, we should all want what’s best for the team and that’s: (1) Aaron Rodgers (2) playing at his best (3) with this team. If Rodgers REALLY wants what’s best for him and his legacy, he’ll take a look around and realize that he’s in a pretty darn good situation. One that’s going to be tough to beat.
